Religious Education

Religious Education

Religious Education is taught daily in each class. It is founded on building a loving relationship with Jesus. The syllabus emphasis Catholic Beliefs. The school uses modules which have been prepared by teachers and religious education experts in our Diocese and approved by the Bishop.

Our Catholicity permeates all Key Learning Areas and is present in our relationships. The Religious Education programs and Catholic Values are integrated across all key learning areas and are reflected in our student management policies and procedures and all our relationships.

In Year Three the children receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and then in Year Four they receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Whilst the school teaches the children about the Sacraments, it remains the responsibility of the parish to prepare them for the reception of these Sacraments. Parents are also required to journey with their children during this time of preparation.

In choosing to send your child to Our Lady of Good Counsel School you will be providing them with every opportunity to be immersed in the Catholic tradition.
