CURRICULUM
 
At OLGC we follow the NSW Syllabus documents in all Key Learning Areas and our approach to teaching and learning is based on the following beliefs:
  • · Children are at different stages in development- spiritually, emotionally, academically, socially and physically.

  • · Children learn in different ways.
  • · Children need to be respected and have their contributions valued.
  • · Children take risks in their learning and skill development when they feel safe.

  • · Teaching and learning should be fun.
  • · Children are encouraged and given meaningful, constructive feedback about their learning and skill development.
  • · Children learn best when they are given a variety of experiences, which can be related to their own life.
  • · Learning experiences reflect the challenges of society today.
  • · A supportive and stimulating classroom will enhance learning.
  • · Children’s achievements are recognised and celebrated.
  • · Children are given time to make sense of their learning.

SCHOOL DAILY ROUTINE
Below is an outline of the daily school routine:

8.45am – Children line up ready for their day of learning.

10.50am -11.30am – Recess Break

12.50pm – 1.30pm – Lunch Break

3.10pm – End of day. Children dismissed.
