Mission & Parish News

Dear Parents

We are so lucky to have such a wonderful school community that is caring and supportive. The community is what makes a school, and parents are certainly at the heart of the school.

We encourage parents to contact us if they have any suggestions for parent education or events that might be beneficial for the community.

On Wednesday, 20 March, Susanne Bragge will be presenting the parenting course 1,2,3 Magic. The course in an informative course for parents on how to deal with challenging behaviour.

The course by Dr. Thomas W. Phelan, a clinical psychologist with decades of experience, breaks the complex job of parenting down into 3 simple steps:

  1. Getting your kids to stop doing the things you don’t want them to do (tantrums, whining, etc.)
  2. Motivating your kids to start doing the things you want them to do (cleaning up, homework, etc.)
  3. Bonding with your kids (the best part!)

Please look out for a flyer for more details.

Today we pray for parents.

Patience — Lord, teach parents during this time to be joyful in hope and patient in tribulation. Help them to continue steadfastly in prayer, even when it seems life is getting more complicated, not less. As you are patient with us, Father, help parents to be patient with their families. Let mothers and fathers be swift to hear, slow to speak, and kind in their words and actions.
